I do agree 28 Years Later strays from the raw grit of the original, but I think it trades that for a deeper exploration of British identity and myth, with Brexit parallels. It’s a different kind of commentary, but a powerful one.
Right? It’s a wild ride: part apocalypse, part dystopian Middle England, part history lesson with longbows. Left me baffled and in tears in equal measure!
I didn’t expect to cry at a zombie film. But 28 Years Later is about more than the infected — it’s about loss, memory, and what happens when a nation forgets itself.
