The U.S. and Europe have to someday realize that what the Israeli government envisions for Iran is the largest humanitarian catastrophe of the century so far

"They promised us a very, very different future... That future hasn't arrived and I am frankly angry. I'm angry that these folks won't own up. I'm angry they won't tell the truth and I'm angry that this is a result of a series of absolutely insane policy blunders."

News today: Wisconsin Justice Ziegler, a conservative up for reelection NEXT spring, just announced she won’t seek reelection.

That means that if liberals win a seat next month, they’ll then have a golden opportunity to pick ANOTHER seat next spring and go up… 6-1!

Minneapolis cartoonist storms out of retirement to take on ICE... with his left hand Steve Sack retired after 42 years when his right hand gave out. Then ICE came to Minneapolis and he learned to draw lefty.

I wrote on @boingboing.net about Minnesota cartoonist Steve Sack storming out of retirement to take on ICE... and he had to do it with his left hand @stevesack.bsky.social

it is genuinely very funny how many big name/shop analysts have gone on tv in the last 24-48hr and been like "man we didn't think this administration would be so stupid" like, come on

For the last 14 months, Trump has bragged about the DOW and gas prices.
I wonder how many GOP voters will figure out that they were suckers.

The scary part is that the Trump Administration would actually welcome a terrorist attack in America. It would be their golden key to unlocking a "state of emergency".

Ok, now do the Pod Bros and the entire media ecosystem that beat on Biden at every turn, drove him out of the race, derided MVP, dismissed her campaign, and to this day critique her platform like, "we just didn't get it and couldn't figure out what to do. But we're still the smart guys, really!" --

This isn’t some lefty view. I literally heard John Bolton make this argument privately in 2016. Even though he hated the deal, he said since the U.S. had already delivered its side of the agreement, breaking it off now would simply let Iran off the hook and gain us nothing back.

One of the reasons why Congress is supposed to approve a war is so you can try to hash out the whole "will this double the price of oil?" issue before it happens

these fucking idiots are going to let every fascist who trump discarded rehabilitate themselves as democrats. between this and george conway and eventually MTG the future is MAGA vs former MAGA as a controlled opposition party forever.

I wish that I could say something encouraging, but I only feel despair about the country and its damage to the world.

With oil at $110, I’d guess the equity markets give up another 3-5% over the next few days.

And then Trump TACOs.

The result? The war will have succeeded in clearing out the Iranian gerontocracy for a new generation of younger extremist Mullahs.

Fun Fact:
The FBI director did not need fleets of luxury armored BMW X5s for personal use until President [redacted] appointed a podcaster lawyer. Previous directors travelled in Chevy Suburbans. Armored BMWs were only used to move State Dept officials and diplomats in high-risk international areas.

Trump, Iran, Nuclear Weapons A grim topic that Congress and the American people should be discussing

In light of the serial rash and ill-conceived military actions he has ordered since the beginning of his second term, Jack Goldsmith thinks we should all be thinking and talking about the risk of an unprovoked and unwarranted use of nuclear weapons by Trump. I fully agree.

So many people drive giant trucks and SUV's in the USA - we are the dumbest a-holes.
Did we learn anything from the oil crisis of the 1970's, when everyone wanted a small Japanese car? NO, we learned bupkis.

AI error or not, Iran school bombing is a permanent stain on America’s soul | Will Bunch A debate on AI in warfare obscures the truth about an Iran school bombing. U.S. humans are to blame for this war crime.

They had names. They had beautiful faces. And they had the same dreams as your kids - crushed when American "precision" bombs slammed into their Minab elementary school, killing 175

Don't blame AI for this. Blame the sick humans who see war as a game

Happy to see the European reactions to the Trump-Netanyahu war of choice against Iran:
1. Nobody supports it.
2. Not even Mark Rutte dares to suggest that Europe should help in this war.
3. I do hope that Europe will rearm asap with their own arms, since the US is so unreliable.
