This isn’t some lefty view. I literally heard John Bolton make this argument privately in 2016. Even though he hated the deal, he said since the U.S. had already delivered its side of the agreement, breaking it off now would simply let Iran off the hook and gain us nothing back.
One of the reasons why Congress is supposed to approve a war is so you can try to hash out the whole "will this double the price of oil?" issue before it happens

1. Nobody supports it.
2. Not even Mark Rutte dares to suggest that Europe should help in this war.
