We gratefully acknowledge our policymakers for thoughtfully staggering their reforms, thus enabling clean identificationβand, in the process, (potentially) saving our careers.

The social mobility literature has organized around three types of measures: intergenerational regressions, sibling correlations, and equality of opportunity (EOp) indices. 1/4
I can barely travel with myself.
Almost perfectly coincides with my lifetime, and it was quasi-magical.
Relatedly, it took almost half a day to reach my paternal village ('baari') when we were kids:
Bus>ferry>bus>minibus>rickshaw>foot.
Takes 3 hours now.

It's time for an end-of-year update on @malengo.org! Our goal is to alleviate extreme poverty by facilitating international educational migration. Our flagship program supports Ugandan high school graduates in applying for and obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Germany. Here is what we're been up to!
RIP Ustad Zakir Hussain.
Not a connoisseur ofc but albums like Shakti and Making Music helped me understand what music could be. What an absolute legend.

I mean, at the end of the day, we are all animals, aren't we?
I mean, if you want to let the Nobel go.
Supervising theses was not enough for you.
I spent much of my working day failing at setting up a cite-while-you-write routine using #quarto in #Rstats with #zotero. I tried following this helpful guideline (giancarlomcorrea.netlify.app/post/zotero-...) but I still cannot fetch my reference (I think it is because I use a shared library).

Who are you sub-skying here?

Great to see the record corrected, but I don't think Laura and David need to say "sorry."
The culture change I wish we could have: Understanding that we all make errors, and incrementally improving the processes of social science to make them rarer.
This doesn't happen through "blame and shame."
Let me take the bait
Shamelessly tagging the maestro as well @dmckenzie.bsky.social
Apologies and thanks in advance!
Looks relevant. Thanks!
What are some good examples of within-treatment spillover, i.e., treatment effect for the treated who has other treated units nearby? Looking for examples outside the cash-transfer literature, and esp for information interventions.
Thanks in advance!
Have you been here all this time?
