But thats not the case now. If we want regular European football and a top 6 position then I think we have to accept that there’s a pretty small pool of managers who have the record of providing that and they’re not always available. The alternative is to take a gamble on someone not proven at that…
Believe me I am far from catastrophising. And I don’t have “feelings” for Howe thanks. Pep becomes available and I’m all in for that. Hell I’d probably take Klopp too if he was up for it. I’m old enough to remember when anyone would have been better than some of the managers we have had…..
Howe out in May or Howe out in March. Tomayto/tomato. If you want him out might be better to wait until after the World Cup to get the big name.

So, I think the mark of success for you is Europe and top 6. Discounting Chelsea for obvious managerial roundabout reasons that leaves Pep, Arteta and Slot. All other managers are at least as bad as Howe, then? Not having a pop, just want to know where the line is for you.
If he had “succeeded” in managing that workload where would the team be now? Top five? in the Carabao final? Both?

So we need to think big , presumably get a big name who’ll spend loads, maybe go backwards in a different way to the backwards we’re going now, and you’re happy with that? If Howe has failed twice, what does success look like to you?
I’m happy to give someone else a try but I’m also happy that we might have to go backwards first and it might take some time to get to even where we are now. I don’t think others have that patience, do you? And if we are looking at mangers who are above us, there’s one who is pretty local!😲
We’re now a last 16 CL club and looking at the other English clubs at the same level, I’d say that none of their managers are either available, or would be desirable. Just my opinion, but that is the level that I think the “Howe out” gang needs to look at.
Not against criticism and folk can make all sorts of suggestions about what he can do better, but just saying sack him, as has been said in this thread and others is just pointless. Don’t want Arteta but they are now getting the benefit of ignoring the sack him merchants over the last 7 years.
Given that neither of them are proven with a “bigger club” with a “bigger budget” operating successfully in 4 competitions, do you accept there will be a period where we would be at least initially worse than now, perhaps for a season or two?
I agree they can hold that opinion without naming a replacement but that’s the football fan’s equivalent of a toddler tantrum. I thought we were a bit more grown-up than that over here.
Don’t have a problem with criticism at all of Howe but wanting Howe out without suggesting an alternative is just fantasy. You might disagree but we not at the stage of “anyone but Howe”, as we have been with other coaches. I get the frustration but all clubs outside the cartel face similar issues.
