Yup. The orange traffic cone wasn't there this morning. Not sure where it went?! I wonder how much more broken it will get before it gets fixed?

I recently told someone that I'm pretty sure how I'm going to die: from riding my bike.
Either because I'll be killed in an accident.
Or because I'll slowly be destroyed by exhaust fumes and microplastics. Noise.
It would have been funny, if I werenβt mad. βWe are supporting health (but not Autism, or mental health, or seniors health), students (but not their jobs, bus passes, or extra curricular) and the economy ( just not tourism). I made these decisions, and I stand by them (runs away).
I just assumed cruelty was the point?! Is AI just an excuse now?
This hole has increased in size since Thursday. Itβs now 3 or 4 broken boards, and visible from at least a few metres away. 311 has assigned the ticket to βbuilding standardsβ for follow-up.
Amazing! Glad to see this targeted data was collected. Especially since the Education Minister claims they didnβt know if HRM was using the $ appropriately.
Data based decision making about AT and transit?! What dream world are you living in Terri! This city far prefers scapegoating and stereotyping. π
Working in a pandemic world is just listening to colleagues say βthere must be something going aroundβ on a weekly basis for years and trying to decide if you wanna remind them itβs covid or silently scream into the void again.
Iβm now wondering who is collecting data on student travel modes, because I didnβt think HRCE cared about this stuff at all!?
The Minister of Education could probably use a math lesson
Definitely. I happen to know that another upstanding community #BikeHfx member hauled the barrels back all the way from Duncan St the other day.
Warms my heart on a cold evening to see another #KidicalMassHfx family stop their cargo bike to fix the Donham Diverter. We've got a pretty great community here in #BikeHfx!
Took Halifax Transit to my DT destination. 6 min ride, 5 min walk. I feel fortunate, but do take this for granted. Could never have done this with my car, travel time, gas, parking; cheaper & more efficient is what transit needs to be. And got to read my book. Iβd pay more tax for more of thisβ€οΈπππ
As we all know, the Nova Scotia budget includes a significant number of cuts. But who do those cuts affect?
Let's start with Cole Siteman, who may lose his job due to Easter Seals' funding reduction. www.saltwire.com/nova-scotia/...
My wrench is on too, but I donβt think my brake pads can wait much longer; and my wheel lock is currently held in place with a zip tie!
Adding this to my list for the bike shop next week. π¬
Interesting! Thatβs better than 7pm yesterday. My kiddoβs theory is that it was a snow plow bucket.
Rooftop patio cafe office hours in your future perhaps?! π€

This is actually the second one I've seen locally! One of the guys from Long Alley bike shop had a DIY cargo bike build 8 years ago at a Cycling Coalition event. I haven't seen that one since though.
A cargo bicycle on snow & ice covered ground at a bike lock-up post. The bike has a long flat-bed and a small front wheel. There is a piece of plywood on the flat-bed cargo section.
Spotted this (seemingly) DIYed front-loading cargo bike at the library tonight! #BikeHfx
Surprisingly, both barrels were up when I went through around 6pm tonight!
There have been some follow-up emails, and there are conflicting definitions of βseasonalβ from AT staff and the area councillor. But there wonβt be any flexposts until the spring, and TBD after that.
#hfxws: I rode from Flinn Park to AGNS then to Central library. Bad spots here:
Sections of north Common pathway are flooded with icy water. I rode through, very uncomfortably; avoid if possible.
Hollis bikelane has icy sections, from snowbank melt. Worse is the hole in temp ramp/decking tho.
Agreed. Less safe for sure.
Wooden decking on a ramp, painted grey. Two boards are cracked in multiple places, creating a dent in the surface of the ramp.
A ramp with wooden decking, leading to a covered platform. Some of the boards on the ramp are broken. The bottom portion of a bicycle is just visible within the photo frame on the platform.
Attention #BikeHfx: this is very avoidable if you know itβs there. This is the Hollis bikelane, near the MetroPark. I have reported to 311.
2 speakers (EAC and Public Health) during Tuesdayβs public participation told them what would happen if they cut this funding.
