One of my favorite things to do when writing is write a huge and gross run on sentence. Stream of thought as much detail about what Iโm envisioning.
Then I go back over that same stream of information and make it not suck ๐ฅ๐ง

A snippet I loved:
On the upper floors, there were more windows broken than intact. There was a large satellite dish suspended from the roof, dangling over the side by cords and twisted metal. It shifted slightly with the breeze, the fingers of a twitching body.

LinkedIn has some of the best unintentional satire on the internet. ๐

No Iโm not optimistic about a world where all art is stolen and autogenerated. Jfc.
In my current experience (part of a worldwide, billion dollar corp) email is pretty much just bulletin board. Teams or Slack or whatever inter-office text platform is the bulk of communication.

Thereโs a large portion of that 1st category that DOESNT fit the bill of course, but I think what youโre seeing is common cultural distribution in those industry categories.
3 largest categories of small businesses:
- Professional, Scientific & Technical Services
- Construction
- Transport & Warehousing
People involved in those industries tend to fit the culture demographic (1st cat contains construction adjacent stuff like drafting & landscaping).
I would say in some cases itโs at LEAST marginally better than rubber duck debugging. For those situations where externalizing the issue still leaves you staring at a wall, and any suggestions would be welcome no matter how stupid ๐
Thatโs far too logical for the US.

Absolutely, I write technical articles and make technical education content. Itโs patently worthless for those purposes because of that trust problem. TBH that makes it patently useless for MOST serious tasks, but you canโt underestimate the human desire to not do work ๐
Absolutely, there ARE ways it could be cool and useful, but in its current state it just canโt adequately justify its own cost. Energetically, societally, or culturally.
Yeah if it were significantly less resource intensive, and properly marked when it was flatly making shit up (which itโs not really capable of doing, because conceptually itโs ALWAYS making shit up even when itโs right) itโd make a great learning tool.
There are use cases where accuracy isnโt necessary, for instance when youโve reached a wall on a problem and are trying to spitball unexplored perspectives.
Verifying its answers would aid in problem solving.
That being said, not worth the cost, and humans are infinitely better in this use case. ๐
This isnโt just in the history sphere unfortunately.
I made a video not long ago talking about the likely reality that Google themselves are behind many of the AI channels in an effort to pay fewer creators (own the content and the platform).
They wonโt change it until their viewership crashes. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

I am a straight up double agent about AI in the workplace.
I put a AI forward front on at work. Being anti AI puts a target on your back.
Meanwhile, every time itโs suggested as a solution I undermine its use case.
All in all, I donโt believe convenience outweighs the damage.
