Glad to see almost half of Canadians oppose it, but nearly a third supporting it is wild. Will send food, petrol and energy prices up, that will have a cascading affect on Canada.

I would be interested to know why the left is losing against Macron in Paris. How has the last few terms of PS been seen by the public there? I thought it was popular.

With 16% in the don't know category? Could be a lot of shy, or even no-show republicans. So could be very volatile.

If the BBC can suggest even one possible logical reason for spraying high concentration glyphosate, classified as a category 2A carcinogen BTW, which isn’t to destroy crops, harm the health of civilians, or both, then let them do so. Otherwise to say β€œwe don’t know” is journalistic malpractice.

I thought the first three seasons had quite a nuanced sub-text and it felt to me the cowboys was just a vehicle to look at wealth and power. The last two seasons just threw that out and felt 1-dimentional.

Not sure on that JK point. IMO parties die when it's membership collapses, people can rebuild a party in what they want to make it. I'm not Canadian so not seen everything, but the problem with the Singh leadership is they shut the membership down on things & it's western parties are too centrist

The NDP's federal leadership election should conclude in 6 weeks. Hopefully they can figure their shit out. Better collaboration with the greens, more left wing.

Fair play it averaged around 40% in June 2024, but in March to early June it was mid-40s quite often. There was even a bonkers 50% in August 2023

Counterpoint though, labour's potential to dominate the 2015 and 2024 elections was over inflated. Sure labour won the last GE, but with 10pts less than they were predicted to.

I hope AOC doesn't run because the left needs senators (unless DSA have some people like Lander in mind). But if she did run she'd perform far better than 7% in the campaign.

It's an important distinction in polls that needs to be looked at more. Turnout figures in polls are not discussed, and so headline figures are eschewed.
In the US, it's perhaps a sign ICE has crippled MAGA's anti-authoritarian credibility and the DSA has re-shaped the Democrats.

The only good part of this scandal is it makes McSweeney far more likely to go with him. A failed LE's in May alone might not have been enough. But them actively choosing him- a paedophile who purposely gave away state secrets and damaged the last Lab gov- for a top job is insane.

I'm surprised the people's party hasn't been disbanded already (or again). Maybe the establishment/monarchy thinks they're not a threat anymore? Or there is going to be a shock result in this election.

It's an interesting political bind for Labour and Greens. There was rumours that I don't fully believe that Polanski might stand. If Burnham stands then that's both good and bad for GPEW. If Labour tacks to the left, then GP has to shift their policies to stay relevant.

A lot of the guardian's wellness/psychology/mental health articles are just regurgitating what has already been said, or what they've already written about.

I think it's a design choice to make the image look like that? I don't notice any distortion on text. It's still odd, like its a graphic you'd see on a news paper down the pub? More questions than answers.

And with 50% undecided. So much of Thai polls are either won't say/undecided or chose a party that's not on the list. I am convinced the PPLE could do really well at the next election.

it's crazy that 500 years ago, you would see the ruler of your country maybe once in your life and hear whispers that they're the Sun God, but now with social media, you get to see on a daily basis that they're the most unhinged, idiotic, and unhappy person you know

From what little I understand, the ownership of each polling site and their closeness to Orban/Fidesz is a big part of it. The pro-government polls seem to depress the opposition's vote. Other discussions I've seen say the non-aligned pollers have been proven to be accurate.

The quality of Netflix originals has degraded since 2018. Some stand alone projects have been fantastic, but going into game shows and reality shows has shown their in for a quick buck. They've also cut shows that were edgy but interesting way too early.
The should have had a less is more approach.
