Here Claude Monetβs future wife, Camille Doncieux, sits on an island in the Seine River, looking toward the hamlet of Gloton, next to the town of Bennecourt, from which she and Monet have presumably rowed. This is the only painting to survive from the brief period that the couple spent in Gloton, which the novelist Γmile Zola recommended to Monet as a cheap rural retreat that was easily accessible from Paris. Pentimenti (underpainting) suggest that in an early stage of the painting, Camille held a bonneted child, presumably the coupleβs baby, Jean. Potter Palmer Collection

Iceland to hold August 29 referendum on reviving EU membership talks. Politico, 6 March.
Remember how eurosceptics argued that if we left the EU, other countries would follow? Look how the complete opposite has happened instead...

I am suspicious of politicians who promise a new, richer, more equal, Britain. I hope the thousands who are joining the Green party have checked how the impossible dream will the made reality.Offer people hope but back up that grandiose claim with practical details of how you can do it. Rejoin!
AI involved in targeting choices. More AI danger as it pinpointed a school. How utterly vile of any aggressor to allow an inanimate machine to select with no human oversight. Lazy warfare humans absolved because β AI did itβ.
Yes, weβve entered the nightmare era when machines decide on kills. My thoughts are with Sarah Connor at this difficult time.

Gustave Caillebotte's "The Park at Yerres" beautifully captures a serene garden path lined with vibrant flowers in full bloom. The painting showcases Caillebotte's talent for blending Impressionist techniques with a keen sense of perspective and detail.

This shows our belovΓ©d Freddie a Flatcoat retriever picking plums off the tree. He lies at rest buried underneath that tree now. Much missed.
Freddie, my last Flatcoat, would stand on his hind legs & pluck plums from his tree in our orchard. He lies buried underneath it now & we miss him every day.
What a beautiful flatcoat. I have had four & they are magnificent dogs.

This is how low itβs all got. Churchmen abusing kids, Met officers rape & murder, politicians lying & corrupt, these are supposed to be trustworthy & above reproach. If youβre lost & need help you should be able to trust your vicar or copper or MP.
The establishment has betrayed the citizens.
The EU's role in #EnvironmentalProtection is one of the key areas that we at #SELFE are campaign on...
Let's #RejoinEU to help us create a cleaner, greener world!
In case you missed it ...
π» The Greens want to rejoin the EU. Their only question is "What would be the best first step?" Very sensibly, they want to speak to the EU about that, to find the best and quickest solution for both sides. This open letter is from June last year.

Hope is rising across East Anglia. Campaigners from Herts to Norfolk are back on the streets with Brexitometers, marches and a renewed push to move Britain closer to the EU...and it's happening across the country.
The 10-year anniversary could be a turning point.
