Best set of the weekend by far. That Disease is criminally underrated and finds some cool themes throughout. The true birth of “Plinko jamming”
Twist->2001-> Moma, & While My Guitar Gently Sleeps is a great section of music.

Looking to make a decent vlogging setup in my photo gallery. Question: what are some great quality action cameras or camera with a flip out screen?
along another type of good (no break the bank) Mic. I’ve wanted a setup for a while now as I have have some ambition to create my own vlog/ & podcast.
Going into Hampton 2009, I definitely can’t say I had zero expectations.
Did I assume there would be some rust? Of course.
But coming off 2.0..Where I thought they developed a truly unique sound… I really thought they would come back and expand upon that sound going forward. #phish #hampton09
I actually thought it was a good choice and a sign of all the incredible Pipers to come within the next couple years.. This version featuring somewhat of slow build intro, the energy boiled up until it until it was set free as they quickly entered type II territory
Only Fluffhead but from others I’ve spoke to who were at both say it’s hard to beat the 02 comeback. On New Year’s Eve at MSG and a fanbase still in peak party mode.
This has been debated l before and I think it’s about 50/50. And I was at Hampton but not MSG. Piper was the perfect choice as it slowly built into chaos. Fluff was the most phones I’ve seen whipped out recording the moment up until that point. Also the sing along crowd made it hard to hear the band
For me the attentiveness of 2002 NYE crowd definitely makes me give the Piper the edge. And that’s totally not taking anything away from Fluffhead.
As spine tingling as the Hampton Fluffhead was, us Phish heads always like to compare, contrast, and rank.
So when it comes down to the two comebacks.. I still place the 12/31/2002 MSG NYE Piper opener slightly above the Hampton 3/6/2009 Fluffhead opener.
The Aud is the best way to relive this epic moment.

3/5/1993 - Weekapaug Groove
Pure hose. Absolute machine gun Trey in all his glory.

Blissful “All I Need” jam. Those 2022 D.C. shows were pure heat.

3/1/1997 - Wolfman’s Brother
The first band released board that showcased the funk that was brewing late 96 and came to fruition Winter tour 1997 and especially here in Germany.
Some of my favorite shows lack any big standout jams but the playing and song choices just hit the spot during that moment which makes for a memorable show
This is still the highest attendance to any indoor Phish show ever at around 23,000. 3-4,000 more than MSG.

3/1/2003 - Foam
IMO the best Foam from 2.0. Foam is absolutely one of my favorite songs to see live. Add a little psychedelics and fuck this song is quite the carnival ride.
Ps - that black and white striped button down from Winter 03 is badass.
That signature back and forth strut while staring straight into the audience’s souls with that I’m going fuck your shit up look. Not many smiles just pure business.
For some reason I love this Rock and Roll. The way it starts up the second set. The thickness of the sound and searing solos from T $. Not a huge/wild jam but just checks all the boxes for me.

2/28/2003 - Tweezer
Absolutely epic beyond proportions. No jam has ever made my neck hairs stand up taller. So many incredible themes that effortlessly flow together to produce this masterpiece. Something was in the air that night. #phish

2/28/2003 - Bathtub Gin
One of my favorite grooves and Gin jams of all time. Another Winter 03 jam that’s so good it sounds composed. Some say it’s missing that big peak and I think that’s what makes me like it even more.
Pretty much every spot at Deer Creek has a unobstructed view of the stage. Even from the back of the lawn.
I’ll have to dig up the photos of that afternoon in DC. Definitely have some of you in front of the Washington monument
HA! To be fair it fell outta my hoodie pocket and didn’t realize until I was trying to find out your location. And walked into the parking garage I thought we parked but I was only about 7 blocks off 🤦🏻
Haha Omggg. Don’t know how I forgot about that! So lucky/funny. Lost my phone THEN you AND forgot where I parked. That was a whirlwind couple hours
Loved that run we went on. Fond memories
This ER jam is so chill. Don’t remember it being this good back then.
