Criss Angle Sine Freak
PANEL 1: A shirtless tattooed wizard in sweatpants walking to a mobile home. WIZARD: "What's this now?" PANEL 2: Wizard in closeup. WIZARD: "Problem is most people have tangled up their idea of wizardry with a pastoral never-was England." PANEL 3: Wizard in medium shot, smoking. WIZARD: "But, well, Indiana needs wizards, too. An' maybe it ain't the worst thing in the world if we had more wizards who c'n change the oil in a car." PANEL 4: Close up side view of the wizard's face, still smoking. WIZARD: "Like ev'rybody *loves* Gandalf. But Gandalf'll never teach a local kid how to shoplift baby formula to help his momma." PANEL 5: Wizard in medium shot, looking down. WIZARD: "Nah, people don't like magic around. Reminds 'em they *could* have a different way of doing things than the one that hurts em so bad, an' lotsa folks can't handle that."

diet sprite should be as ubiquitous as diet coke. it's weird that we replicated the red/white wine model with sodas and then never popularized its chardonnay
new scam going around where they hire you for a job but pay you less than the value your labor produced
The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naΓ―ve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."
Sorry, can't talk right now, I'm at job. I'm at career.
I think it's kind of beautiful that this was Rob Reiner's final line on television
I have come to the idea that we have to collectively, brutally, ritualistically kill Target just to show capital that we truly arenβt fucking around.
Two shits passing in the night
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence π₯
I think the word youβre looking for is βkeptβ
the symbolism of βTrump destroying the White House for a overpriced luxury vanity project, during a government shut down, days after a historically-large mass demonstration against his regime called βNo Kingsββ would be rightly viewed as laying it on a little thick if it was in a work of fiction
"you should work nine hours a day six days a week making money for somebody else when you are young so you can (maybe) not have to work at all when you are 65" - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged
Fortunately there's only 3 more years of rapidly escalating fascism before there's a peaceful exchange of power
i think the phrase βcommon senseβ may be the most damaging thought terminating cliche that exists
Again Bouie from the top rope
Everyone could use a reminder that the idea behind our system of government is that we cede some of our power to it in exchange for it working on our behalf. When it stops doing that it becomes illegitimate and must be changed. The idea that the people can "betray" a government organ is perverse
they chose this over candidates that simply wanted them to pay more taxes so we could have healthcare for everyone

Polling data from Harris & Associates 1966. Q: Do you approve of what Freedom Riders are Doing? 22% approve 61%disapprove18%no opinion.
I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.
