This sounds so fun!
This sounds so fun!
Check out this thread for reflections from some of the #RevPit 2025 cohort.
Also, thanks to @goodwords.bsky.social for putting this all together.
I LOVE The Bone Houses. One of my evergreen recs!
Moose in the sink is a mood π
Hi Raquel, whatβs a book youβve read and enjoyed lately? Always adding to the tbr!
Hi fellow β½οΈ mom, whatβs a book youβve read lately and enjoyed? Adding more titles to my tbr!
πππ
All the heart eyes for this π
Loved Heartless Hunter, and have been meaning to get to Canβt Spell Treason Without Tea. Iβll look the others up! I enjoyed Graceless Heart by Isabel IbaΓ±ez recently (historical romantic fantasy) as well as The Swanβs Daughter by Roshani Chokshi π¦’
What's a book you've read lately that you loved? Currently in between books and looking for recs.
The big prize doesnβt have to be the goal. Maybe just putting yourself out there is.
Donβt self reject. Be brave. Iβm cheering for you.
So yes, working with an editor has been a true βbefore and afterβ moment in my writing career. But all those smaller moments, the ones that arenβt as splashy or as aesthetic for social media, they are just as integral.
Meeting other writers, making new friends, networking with colleagues (yes, we are colleagues!) Finding a group chat to share the wins and the woes. Learning to provide feedback, and receive it with grace. These are all wins. These are all integral to longevity in this business.
Learning how to write a query letter, compiling a synopsis, crafting a one sentence pitch: all skills useful to an authorβs career.
But last year wasnβt the first mentorship I applied to, nor was it my first RevPit. PitchWars, Author Mentor Match, Rogue Mentor, to name a few. I didnβt βwinβ any of those, but I still walked away with immeasurable βprizes.β
Jeni has a unique way of looking at the story as a whole and asking βwhat if?β over and over until I come up with an answer (bc, unfortunately, she couldnβt do that for me!) Working with her made me realize the importance of multiple people to bring out a storyβs soul.
Yes, I won a developmental edit with @jenichappelle.bsky.social last year. She empowered me with skills to work with my brain, rather than hating it.
Hey #RevPit community,
What if the developmental edit doesnβt have to be the goal? Let me explain:
Okay, #RevPit, let's talk prep for the annual contest π§΅
When you enter, you'll need separate files for:
π Complete ms
π First 5 pages + Query letter
π Synopsis
In general, it's better to have a ms that you've revised some and isn't a first/zero draft.

New to RevPit? Read this!
(Also, I have only the highest of praise for Jeni, the way she sees story, and how she makes the revising process digestible. Check out her MSWL)
It's RevPit season! Editor MSWLs are up and nosy-little-me is scanning them all. You should too.
And writers, don't self-reject. RevPit and its community have had a profound impact on my writing. Put your work out there. I'm cheering for you!
Such a cute mug π·
An excellent resource, imo!
A photograph of a dark library, with white text overlay. The text reads: The thin line between hope and despair is often translucent.
If Fall 2025 brought us lady knights in fantasy, Winter 25/26 is bringing us necromancers. A non-exhaustive list of fantasy books Iβve read lately that you should too as well as upcoming fantasy releases.
Oh, and a writing update.
