for reference I have access to a decent gym with some machines and free weights

getting back into working out is overwhelming for me just because there’s the diet portion and the actual exercise portion and types of exercises to do… does anyone have insight into what a good starting workout regimen would be? just don’t want to overwork certain muscles.
