Two weeks ago, on September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene hit me and my family hard as unprecedented storm surge entered our apartment and flooded all our vehicles. Unfortunately, just as we were trying to get back on our feet after Helene passed us, now we need to deal with Hurricane Milton, which is expected to head very close to Tampa Bay as a category 3 hurricane as of writing & will peak as a category 5 off the coast of Mexico. While all of us are hoping the hurricane shifts southward so that the impact to Tampa Bay is mitigated. However, in the event we need to evacuate from the area, I'll try to convince my family to evacuate to Tallahassee or Gainesville. This decision may seem inconsiderate given the prior circumstances in North Florida with Helene, but sadly, we may not have any other choice.
We're gonna need your support to help us get out of Milton's way. I'll be setting up a $900 goal that will go towards paying for a 2-night stay at a hotel north of the state until the storm passes on Thursday as well as food and gas. Regardless of what happens, it'll also go towards recovery efforts after Milton passes. In addition, we'll be helping out my older sister with expenses as she'll be heading back to her home after Milton. She's currently stuck with us after flying from Philadelphia to have a medical procedure done, not expecting a hurricane to throw her plans upside-down. It really pains me to say this, but we're gonna need help getting to safety from Milton. Right now, we plan on heading up to at least inland Hernando County. I've set up my Ko-fi so y'all can provide us with support in this dire time
