The Dracula cover I worked on is finally revealed.

I am very stoked about this project, because doing a cover art for a classical book is a dream I didn't know I had, and also because they agreed to have the cover art minimalistic and elegant, and I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT IT.

A woman in some kind of blank faced habit with the top of her head on fire, she looks like she’s manipulated genetic lines for 10,000 years to make sure you were born and you turned out to be a soft as shit dickhead

A load of couriers all wearing face mask sat around a yurt at the feet of a dude in a gold suit sat on a throne with his own face a pitiless void

A dude on a horse, the horse has fucking antlers and somehow that’s not the gnarliest thing here, again his helmeted head reveals a terrifying Stygian abyss where his face should be

Seen a couple of clips the past week from some 1995 Kyrgyzstan documentary The Universe of Manas and had to check out the whole thing. Just absolutely fucking unreal levels of drip here

if you can afford it, look around for driving instructors in your area and sign up for a lesson or two. they'll take you driving around your local area and give you tips and show you how to drive defensive and you'll get driving experience without someone freaking out like friend/family would

The awakening

Illustration based on the first entry in Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, featuring the protagonist, Severian holding the sword "Terminus Est" in front of him atop a strange otherworldly platform. The Illustration is an homage/recreation of Don Maitz' original cover for the novel.

An illustration in the style of a sepia photograph. Between two stone gateposts is a desolate graveyard. There is sea, and beyond it, land but the landscape is very flat. A tall woman dressed in late Victorian mourning is stood amongst the graves, looking spooky and mardy.

Anyways, that's seven of these figure drawing tip sheets done now. (Here are the title pages from the first six.) I don't have a practical purpose for doing this, but it's nice to be doing tutorials again without worrying about whether there's an audience for it.
