Iβm not here defending AI, Iβm an artist and I also hate it, but Iβm confronting the reality of the situation here, which is dire already and just βboycottingβ isnβt going to do anything βcause the time will come when it will be like boycotting water, it will be everywhere.
Of course we can do thatβ¦ for a whileβ¦ while we are still ignorant about their usage of it(cause yes lots of things use it already). And I think that is very important to argue about it with reasonable arguments besides blind hate because it is unfortunately something inevitable. It is what it is.π«€
Well, I donβt work there, I donβt know their pipeline process, but I still think that at this point is useless to be pointing hate at everything that uses AI because EVERYTHING does and all we can do is to charge for regulations and more strict legislations. They are going to use AI anyway.
Im not talking about the actual creative process which is the job of a concept artist, but literaly just a place holder title screen and things like that, not full illustrations.
No its not.
I never said anythin about concept art. Iβm talking about place holder assets, using Level 5 as example, as a developer who has a pretty consistent art direction. As an artist, Iβm all against the use of gen AI, but at this point is impossible to stop itβs use, so itβs a matter of damage reduction.

Level 5 does that for generating temporary main screen menus, load screens and idealizing UI designs. Never goes to the final product
What lol of course it does. You can take what Kaneko (from smt and persona) did with his AI game, for instance, he trained with only his works. The result was a sloppy shit but thatβs irrelevant for what I said, you donβt need the result to be perfect when you only using for place holders
I mean, in house trained AI is kinda okay, if they only use it to make some mockups and place holders, like Level 5 does.
