Do you have one you would recommend? for me "The Witches Are Coming by Lindy West was a good one.
At the beginning of December I got a 3 month KU subscription as an early x-mas gift so I could check out as many of the awesome small pub/indie books I was seeing on #booksky. All the ones I enjoyed I posted about, to share the fun. Now it's back to my physical TBR pile for a bit πΊ

I finished the first chapter of my first draft for my second book π
Yesterday to this morning I read The Alex Series by A.C. Harper. 3 amazing books that explore the self discovery of a trans man at different stages of life. The Shoreline was short yet poignant. The Inbetween feels real and honest. The Fall Between. Emotional, complex and sincere. #booksky
Reading makes me want to write.
Writing makes me want to read.
The cycle is eternal.

When it comes to reading as well writing once I'm in it I can't stop until I finish or I drop.
I ended up staying up late last night reading The Mistress of Crows by Gary Kruse. An anthology of short horror stories. Overall enjoyable although I found some of the stories more to my taste than others. Specifically βThe Mistress of Crowsβ and βCurse of the Ancient.β #booksky
Last night I finished reading Starfall Theatre Book 2, Maps and Magicians: An action-packed Cozy Fantasy adventure by Marianne Plasse. Imaginative and fantastical. Iβm impressed with how the author manages to make a riveting adventure feel like a warm hug. #bluesky
I used the website behind the name a lot when choosing character names. I like that it gives the meaning and history of the names as well as different versions of the same name with different spellings based on culture/region.
I believe since both gulls and crows are communal species they would greet each other in passing.
Today I bought and read The Knight Saves the Dragon by Rebecca Crunden. The short first person story is a fun twist on a classic tale. A knight is sent to slay a dragon and save a princess. You should read it to find out how it ends. #booksky

I originally got it for making maps for ttrpgs but I have also used it just to make fun pretty images as well as for the concept art to show the artist who did the cover of my book.
Image say's "Writing is a sort of alchemy of the imagination. A process which is one part science the other magic. In which an author takes concepts, ideas, words and attempts to distill them into gold or an elixir of immortality. Yet most often ends up with merely a solution of their imagination. Sometimes we deem it good, sometimes not and then we try again. We keep trying adding new ingredients, adjusting the timing and all other aspects. Because the beauty is not in the solution. It is in the process."
Random thought I had while I was waking up-

World building is so much fun πΈ
Stolen Pieces by J.R. Mason is a page turner thriller that had me up reading until 5am when my eyes refused to focus. I continued it as soon as I woke up. I enjoyed it a lot. Just be mindful of the content warnings it is not a comfy book. #booksky
You could do a review of each book and then a series overall review...
Hi #booksky If you love dragons and/or are looking for a new fantasy series check out The Shiniest of Scales by K.V. Wilson and The Mirror by H.M. Clarke. I read both these short stories and they are well written and intriguing introductions to both of these authors' writing/worlds.
I expected it to be good going in but I want to share that The White Rose of Rent is yet another wonderful book in the Medieval Babes: Tales of Little-Known Ladies series by J.P Reedman. π #booksky
Turkish delight is in my experience disgusting π€’
Reader on Goodreads- "hmmm yes I would like to read that smutty dark romance about serial killers." Goodreads- "Y'all need jesus!"
I just read The Last Queen: Book One of The Chronicles of Cleopatra by G. Lawrence. I really enjoyed this engrossing imagining of the early life of Cleopatra. A great read if like me you enjoy historical fiction and Egyptian history/mythology. #booksky
Baba Yaga's magic hut
exhausted moss mound
Love stargate. I'm currently comfort watching Avatar the last Airbender
Probably why they are my favorite horror movies
This is very concerning...
So I grabbed a free copy of Melania: Devourer of Men by J.D. Boehninger initially just to be puckish not really intending to read it. But a question nagged at me is the book any good? So I read it and my answer is yes. The book is entertaining, absurd, humorous and it is still free. #booksky
