When COVID struck, my union worked out how to work safely in a week. Set records the entire year. What became obvious to everybody, on the West Coast, is that the employer was incapable of moving cargo off the dock.

I think the last strike we did was in 1973. So it is not like it happens all that much.

What the employer has rather expensively learned is that trying to mess with my union will not work.

Throw in we get rid of CARs, or at least change them so they have to approve a new budget for the year, or they are not paid for the year they are using a Continuing Action Resolution, which would be last years budget used again.

True, they need to realize how what they vote for or against impacts their constituency.

And will learn how popular it is based on their re-election try.

My union has term limits. Run or a job, then you have to go back to work on the docks for a term. Then you can run again. Put in the initial contract because anything the person voted on, in office, would impact them as well.

Also, term limit of one.
