ok I do have to issue a retraction--the article says that Yuko Yamaguchi TOOK OVER for HK in 1980, 5 years after her first appearance--which is correct, it's just in a clause right next to the thing about her being a human not a cat and that made me rage blackout for a second and misread the rest.
