Democratic lawmakers want UW to make Wiscards valid voter ID Democratic lawmakers introduced a bill that would eliminate the need for proof of enrollment and allow expired college-issued voter identification cards at the polls.

I have always supported making voting more accessible for our college students. Let's expand the number of campuses that issue voter-compliant IDs and clean-up confusing rules. I'll keep fighting for these commonsense changes. www.dailycardinal.com/article/2026...

At a recent bipartisan panel of legislative leaders, I made it clear: the Senate still has work to do! We should stay in Madison and focus on lowering health care costs, skyrocketing premiums, supporting our public schools, and protecting our land and water.

At the Wisconsin Counties Association Conference, interns from the Wisconsin Community Youth Corps had an informative display about the work they are doing on foster care in Racine County. It was a pleasure to meet these engaged, and engaging, young leaders. They are making a difference right now.

As we close out #PublicSchoolsWeek, I am thinking back to my time at LaFollette High School on Madison’s east side. Caring and inspiring teachers, great classmates, good friends, and a very memorable four years. Hope you have fond memories of your public schools. Thank a teacher today!

The blue corduroy jackets worn by FFA members were very visible in the Capitol on FFA Day. These students represent the next generation of farmers and rural leaders who help keep Wisconsin strong. Thanks to FFA Students from Wisconsin Heights and Sauk Prairie High schools who visited my office!

Nurses are lynchpins in providing quality, compassionate health care. That’s why I support bills to ensure Nurses have a strong voice in their workplace. I always welcome the opportunity to visit with nurses and learn from their insights and front-line perspective. .

The Stewardship Fund is an important, popular program. Unfortunately, Senate Republicans made our Democratic bill to save this program WORSE. Peter Burress from Conservation Voters: β€œThank you to Wisconsin Democrats for standing up to Republican efforts to weaken this program.”

Reverend Jesse Jackson dedicated his life to civil rights, justice, and ensuring everyone had a seat at the table. His visits to Wisconsin were always for a righteous cause. My daughter Katie will never forget this moment. We mourn Rev. Jackson’s passing and give thanks for his life.

My bill to provide veterans and Gold Star Families free admission to Wisconsin’s beautiful State Parks received a public hearing. Those who have sacrificed so much should not have to pay a State Park sticker to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Let’s get this bill passed!

It is past time to legalize recreational cannabis in Wisconsin. My Democratic colleagues and I have introduced a bill that would establish a regulated market that prioritizes public safety, realize the economic benefits of legalization, and reduce harm to communities.
