He got a bad kick in the head. To the point that the player who caught him injured himself because of the power of the kick. I saw him from his debut to that point and he was the future. Then the kick happened and he was out for a long time. Leighton arrived in 1988 with a big reputaton.

Can't blame him. Well Schmacher did have previous after all.
Gary Walsh made his debut the week after. Another 3-3 at Villa Park. He was going to be the future until he got a bad head injury in Bermuda. Was never the same again.
The free-kick opener is a work of art.

The bleb was the sign wasn't it? It got bigger and bigger and you knew time was running out.
Remember having a ball like this?
And we never even thought about asking for a new one.
We played with this one until there was nothing left.
In December 1993, this game came out for the Sega Megadrive.

This was a warning sign.
BSB had rights to show live England games in the early 90s.
They also sent football fans all over the place for Monday night FA Cup ties.
I speak from experience on that one.
Then after Sky took them over (or merged if you want) it got worse for fans.
It's been like it for years Rory but nothing will change.

That's what I remembered! How hard it was to score when face on with the goal. Many games had that problem.
This came with the Sega Megadrive and I played it loads with my cousin.
But was it any good?
The cover was great but I seem to remember it not being brilliant.
