Thanks! A lot of it is 3d models with some shader trickery. The backgrounds and tiles are just regular sprites.
Iโm not sure how best to learn apart from just to do! Iโm by no means an expert so I tried to find a simple style that I could realistically make lots of assets for, hope that helps!

Yeah you might be right. The stun stars should be enough. Currently they donโt last the full stun length so that was probably not helping readability
yeah great ideas. i also might add a "?" emote above the monkeys head, which in general is used as a "stunned" kinda thing with some other characters.
Ahh interesting. Yeah I wonder how I can make it more obvious to reflect their projectiles?
As for the cymbal monkeys, I think that would be a pretty easy fix. Maybe some kind of constant "flash" or "shake" to know that they're vulnerable.
