Otter in the River Clyde, Glasgow.
Otter in the River Clyde, Glasgow.
Water like liquid metal in the afternoon sun, and what's that making the ripples? An Otter in the River Clyde, east of Glasgow Green, yesterday.
And it tells the world, "Why should I wait?
This ice and snow is gonna melt away"
Thank you Derek, glad to hear it.
Two Mute Swans in flight with wings outstretched. No background features visible, only thick mist.

This Kingfisher gets called Kevin by the locals!
Thanks! Some days, when heβs in the mood, heβll stick around and let you have a good look and get close.
Kingfisher sitting on a branch which has one small bud growing on it.
I take lots of photos of this bird but I hardly ever get him sitting in any light. Here he is posing in full-on sunlight for a change, over the flint mill lade by the River Kelvin in Glasgow. #birds

The Peregrine I photographed on Friday morning at the City Chambers in Glasgow was the male from the pair that nested at Glasgow Uni the last few years. The one pictured here, at Glasgow Uni later the same day, is not that male and its not his partner L7 either: its an unkown visitor. #birds
Oystercatcher, Cardross Bay. #birds
One nesting pair known in Glasgow, with one or two other birds around the Glasgow area too. This is probably L7, the female that nested at the uni in previous years - her and her partner have spent a lot of time around the city centre recently but have been seen at uni again too.
Public sculpture in Glasgow, now with added Peregrine. On the City Chambers, looking from the Mercury statue in John St this morning. #birds

Thatβs great Stuart, thanks. Plenty to be seen around Glasgow.
Thanks Rob
Another black & white Heron, on the Polmadie Burn this time, at Richmond Park in Glasgow. B&W is good for high-contrast but it also hides the luminous green colour of the water in this burn. #birds
A tree reflected in the River Cart, near where it meets the Clyde.

Thanks!

Our regular male Kingfisher was perched by the blue bridge over the Kelvin in Glasgow, when another Kingfisher flew past below. Watch as he reacts. First in real time (with sound) and then repeated in slow motion. #birds
Pics from another walk, from Renfrew to Yoker last weekend. Sleepy but watchful Teal, Emirates A380 roaring in from Dubai for a landing at Glasgow airport, Clyde tugs passing the 'unavailable' Renfrew Bridge, CMS Boxer heading back to Greenock.

Lunchtime walk along the canal, at Kelvindale in northwest Glasgow a few days ago. Sleepy sun-bathing Fox, Moorhen, Cormorant in flight and Grey Heron hunting along the waterline. #birds
