I love all the adorable cat pictures on Bluesky, but I am not a fan of their "voice" being cutesy misspelled words. Cats don't play that shit. They have the impeccable grammar of true assholes. They're cats.

Is it time to stop fighting for the values you claimed to espouse and coddle the hateful because it makes life more comfortable for you? I'm a no.

Maybe some. But we were the leader in scientific research. There aren't that many jobs in other countries to absorb everyone. That could change. It remains to be seen who we will abdicate the role of "leading knowledge experts" to (along with the massive industries that come along with that)

We are only killing science. It's not being replaced by other science. It's only being replaced by shouty headlines. The goal is to eliminate experts with answers to questions.

Elon endorses sending US citizens to prisons in El Salvador. Elon is an existential threat to every US citizen.

The way that Republicans assure themselves they have power and control is by two measures. Can they punish and hurt other people? Can they *not* be held accountable for doing so? If you don't have those things, you don't really have power. By this logic, the worst people ARE the best people.
