Been saying for a long time that there's a real base here in the Midwest for a democratic socialist politics that is relentlessly focused on building a better life for working people. Politics should be about helping people, not hating people.

Democracy Commission's package passing was one of the biggest developments at DSA convention. It was an intervention pushing DSA towards pluralism in national decision-making. I predict national leaders will need to compromise and collaborate more with each other to get things done in the future.

Indiana GOP state legislators want to redraw the map with Illinois to absorb downstate rural counties. This is an actual headline, not a Simpsons episode.

Democrats boycott first day of Minnesota House session but GOP votes to appoint speaker anyway House Democrats have boycotted the opening day of Minnesota’s 2025 legislative session in an effort to stop Republicans from exploiting a temporary one-seat majority to unseat one of their members.

The craziest story you haven't heard of today is the MN GOP appointing a speaker in the state assembly without the votes to do it. Insane stuff

Very excited about this one! This is a DSA-led campaign that is carrying on the work that Milwaukee DSA has done on public power, housing, and public schools.

When you have a wide range of opinions that you regularly need to engage with, it really does force you to engage respectfully with people you vehemently disagree with. Hard to find a more politically fractious environment than Southeast Wisconsin.

Hopefully this saves a lot of people from a preventable, crippling disease. But maybe the GOP shouldn’t have spent the last hundred years working to β€œdrown government in the bathtub” if they didn’t want to bring all the medieval diseases back - just a thought.

targets, the District Court reasonably concluded that the balance of the equities tips toward
preliminary relief pending full consideration of the merits. Its analysis of the last two
preliminary injunction factors was not arbitrary or unreasonable. The court did not
manifestly abuse its discretion, and its injunction was not overbroad.
156 Finally, both parties have submitted notices of supplemental authority, citing recent
cases considering challenges to various laws regarding gender-affirming care. Without
exception, the additional authority pertains to claims grounded in the equal protection
clause or otherwise based on alleged unlawful discrimination. Some of the authorities also
reference new developments in research and evidence that was not part of the record
presented to the District Court in the preliminary injunction proceedings. Because, on the
record here, the District Court's conclusions on Montana's express privacy protections are
sufficient to uphold its preliminary injunction, we affirm on that basis. The parties will
have the opportunity during the merits proceeding for full development of the record, where their experts may offer insight on any new research, and for briefing on the current case law relative to their claims.
CONCLUSION
157 The District Court made no error of law and did not manifestly abuse its discretion.
We affirm its grant of a preliminary injunction on the basis of Plaintiffs' right to privacy claim. The case will proceed to trial, at which point the District Court will finally resolve the disputed facts and issue a final determination on the constitutional issues presented.

Incredible news! Montana’s Supreme Court just affirmed that the state’s gender affirming care ban is likely unconstitutional.

This makes the state the first state Supreme Court to rule that trans medical care is protected.

This applies REGARDLESS of what the US Supreme Court does.

Any member in good standing can sign up for the International Committee. Just requires paying dues.

In our organizing model, there will always be some members and leaders with bad takes. The idea is that the majority will tend to be right, so member organizing will correct those errors.
