You're missing the point completly. We're talking about two people who have a familial bond like mother-daughter which is what Emma Watson and JKR had, and the type of betrayal and mourning that Emma had to come to terms with. This is what is being discussed here.

They're not. She's not compromising on anything. If you listen to the podcast episode, you'll see that what she's doing is mourning. She is mourning the person that she knew and met 24 years ago, and that became a family member to her because obviously that person isn't there anymore.
Which she is. However, in this particular case, JKR straight up raged quit out of their life without so much as a convo which is even more damaging for JKR's credibility IMO. Neither of the trio are seeking her out to bring her back in. None of them are excusing her behavior or her hateful views.

I believe the whole segment to be incredibly damaging for JKR. Emma explains how complicated the situation is due to JKR being like a mother to her and how she (JKR) never allowed for a convo or debate before attacking them (the trio). Emma also says that she still cares deeply about trans rights.

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today.
This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.
I remember a petition just around Christmas going around in Canada to establish Trans people as refugees from the US. I signed it, but I've lost track of it since then. I need to see where it's at and how we can pressure our (soon-to-be) newly elected government to make that happen.
