writing fics vs writing original fiction requires completely different skills and focus points, BOTH are amazing forms of art and comparing them just seems silly and in my opinion somewhat disrespectful (and unfair) to both fic authors and authors of original fiction

“I’ve read fics better than any original fiction” why are we comparing two completely different forms of art 😭😭

will never understand why, for some reason, defending fics always entails comparing fics to original literature which inevitably ends up with putting down authors of original fiction
