I am actually kind of glad I didnt earlier, I probably would have quit playing guitar. When I was younger I needed quicker payoff, my threshold for feeling like I was doing "bad" was much lower before id give up.
So since I picked up my instruments again ive been making a concentrated effort on learning fundamentals i skipped like playing to a metronome.
I had the genius idea of practicing with my double kick while I also practice guitar to the click.
