One of my current projects: removing the logo and replacing it with a similar fabric scrap as a reverse appliquΓ© patch.
Next, I want to add a little more design and tone down the color a little: more patches with visible stitching.

From purple geraniums!
Current read + results of current natural dye project. Itβs a whole vibe, I guess.
And the finished front and backs of 28 days of stitches.
Day 28: woven cross stitches
Last day of my recorded daily stitch doodling. And a reminder not to buy from big corporations today. Support local, use cash, love you.
A scrap of fabric in an embroidery hoop with various embroidery stitches covering the surface.
Day 27: lantern stitch I was about to say how this is another stitch I love, but at this point, I think thatβs almost every stitch for me. My phone died as I was recording the 1st lantern. Then when I had enough charge on my phone, I ran out of thread. Sigh.
Added chevron chain-I couldnβt resist. My pattern loving brain noticed that I had lots of thread left, and room for more stitches!
Day 26: chevron stitch I love a patterned stitch. Once I finished the chain I wanted to mirror it with a second side to create diamond shapes. I posted the extra side in the comments.
Day 25: Japanese darning stitch Iβm a sucker for a Japanese mending stitch, this is one of my favorites, though is always tricky for some reason.
Day 24: repeat a stitch. I chose a single stitch, repeated. Today Iβm going to craft group at the library, Iβve been hermiting all weekend.
Day 23: fern stitch with 5 days left to go in this doodle stitch a day, Iβm realizing that I do enjoy this simple practice.
Day 22: open chain stitches No video because Iβm feeling a little ooky today. Lots of sadness, fear and rage going around-my stomach is reflecting.
Day 21: woven wheel or spiderβs web stitch.
I joined in on a call with House representatives and Oregonβs AG last night, about protecting ourselves against the presidentβs policies. WTF is happening every day? Embroidery gives me a thread of hope to hold onto in tumultuous times.
Day 20: brick stitch I was going to do a 2-color thing, but my daily to-do list says otherwise. Iβm dashing off to the dentist as I upload this video.
Day 19: chain stitch On the 1st stitch, a little fluff pulled through from the other side, and I tried to grab it, but then remembered I only have 60 seconds to record, and then I forgot my next step momentarily.
Day 18 of doodle stitching. This shows an embroidery hoop with many types of hand stitches, creating a colorful abstract picture.
Day 18
Day 18: pistil stitch This is a stitch that Iβve grown to appreciate. There are so many embroidery stitches, and I love how it gives a very different feel when you group or layer stitches. #embroidery #doodle
An embroidery hoop with a piece of cotton and a variety of βdoodleβ stitches. Each day of February I am adding a stitch, building on the previous dayβs stitch.
Day 17: βtater totβ stitch. I have no idea if this is an actual stitch, but a long, long time ago I was embroidering a tater tot, and I couldnβt quite get the texture right until I accidentally made this stitch. Let me know if thereβs a more proper name than tater tot for this one.
Day 16: padded satin stitch
I pulled out some indigo dyed embroidery thread today, the rich color made in the long summer days that stretch into the evening hours.
Day 15: backstitched square/shape. I woke up early to catch a weaving workshop on the east coast. A little break for this stitch and then on with the weekend.
Ahem, as I was saying, sorry for the rough view, I thought the hoops would be a little more centered. Happy V-Day!
Day 14: bullion stitches. I keep thinking about worms, dreaming about slugs and worms, and pulled both the tower and death tarot cards today. Iβll keep with the theme and stitch some wormy looking bits. Sorry for the less than idea view, l #embroidery #fiberarts
Yes! Every good jacket needs some hand stitched love.
Thank you!
