Press release: RNAConnect Launches the UltraMarathonRT Direct RNA-Seq Kit to Advance Nanopore-based Native-RNA Sequencing
The UltraMarathonRTยฎ Direct RNAโSeq Kit preserves and detects longer #RNAs and reveals more isoforms per gene.
This kit offers a simple dropโin fit to your #Nanopore SQKโRNA004 workflow.
See how it expands what you can learn from every #longread seq sample.

Pre-print #2 from the lab this year! We took a closer look at the m1A methyltransferase TRMT61B (a super interesting enzyme that targets multiple types of RNA), and explored location-dependent effects of TRMT61B-mediated m1A on mRNA translation. Led by very talented grad student, Dorthy Fang!
Excited to share our latest work on a new cilia disassembly pathway and a link between this pathway and the neurological disorder focal cortical dysplasia: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Brief summary: we used a genome-wide CRISPRa GOF screen to identify negative regulators of ciliary signaling...
Don't forget to join us tomorrow for the RNA Club!
๐๏ธ Donโt miss your chance to add a new stamp to your RNA Club card and keep the collection growing
Congrats to Chia-Ling Chou, Emmanuel Saliba, Anna Marie Pyle, Li-Tao Guo and co-authors on demonstrating how single-cell RNA-Seq with UltraMarathonRTยฎ reveals unexpected transcriptomic diversity.

Flyer for the Yale RNA Science and Medicine 2025 Retreat. The title reads 'YALE CENTER FOR RNA SCIENCE AND MEDICINE' at the top. The event, named 'The 2025 Retreat,' will be held on November 7th at Yale's West Campus. Important deadlines are listed: trainee talk abstracts due by September 26th, and registrations and poster abstracts due by October 17th. The background is purple with text in white and dark purple. The bottom of the flyer features four molecular structures, likely representing RNA. A QR code is present on the right side of the flyer, likely for registration or event-related information

This work highlights how detailed, transcript-level dissection of RNA modification-driven regulation can expose unexpected, yet clinically actionable mechanisms. Big shoutouts to Emily in the lab for spearheading the effort, and to the NIH and Sontag Foundations for $$$ support!
Blocking m6A installation by inhibiting METTL3 restored chemosensitivity by diminishing expression of transcripts associated with temozolomide resistance, including MGMT, a DNA repair enzyme and critical prognostic marker of poor therapy response in glioblastoma.
We found that m6A promotes therapy resistance by stabilizing a specific subset of transcripts which are upregulated in glioma cells with acquired resistance to temozolomide.
Using a combination of:
โ
Chemoresistant glioblastoma cell culture models
โ
RNA-seq
โ
m6A-eCLIP
we explored how m6A shapes transcriptomic reprogramming as glioblastoma cells adapt to chemotherapy.
Thrilled to share a new preprint from the lab! We investigated how m6A regulates the transcriptome in chemoresistant glioblastoma through unexpected mechanisms, and the potential therapeutic applications of this discovery.

Excited to share groundbreaking research from our members!
Researchers, including Dr. Stephanie Halene & Dr. Diane Krause, discovered a potential treatment pathway for aggressive leukemia, making it a possible target for the development of new therapies
