Strong recommend for @amalelmohtar.com 's The River Has Roots! Beautiful, winding, (literally) lyrical story. The bonus short story at the end is also really touching and lovely.

The Austin 90's Theater Book This book breaks down the young, messy, amped-up DIY theater scene of Austin, TX from the early 90's - early 2000's.

I arrived at the tail-end of the glory days, and I still consider Austin theater to be the scene that raised me.
