I'm not a Shoe Expertβ’ but I do Like Shoesβ’ and modern Florsheim dress shoes are trash compared to the level of quality they maintained ~40 years ago. I have a pair of vintage Florsheim Imperials from the 80s and they're so, so much better than what the company is producing today. Soooooo...yeah. π¬
No havarti disparagement! π
One thing they don't tell you about getting older is when you make plans to spend the day with someone you actually want to spend time with as opposed to appointments and obligations and then they cancel and you have to grit your teeth until they crack and say "Oh sure! Totally fine no problem!". ππ
YESSSSSSS
You've earned it, my friend.
You're a sick woman but at least I've had my coffee now.

Perfection. I've been on the Internet since 1994, when my Dad leased an AT&T Globalyst laptop and got an AOL connection. My .edu email address is 31 years old. My Gmail account is old enough to be a sophomore in college.
If you feel like technology is just getting worse when every tech company tells you it's getting better, you aren't crazy. This is probably the best breakdown of the situation I've ever read. The blog post is long, but you need to read it:

I was there for the meeting on food trucks and people were literally saying "how do those people wash their hands? I don't trust them to be clean" and I'm like... y'all not even hiding your stance are you.
"You're just a transient" - some dingleberry at the Brookline town hall meeting whenever I'd attend.
We have now reached the Rattling Hacking Cough part of the journey. π«©π€§π€π«

Too tired to get anything done, too sick to sleep: An RSV Story. π
My father-in-law passed away this morning after several bouts of illness. He didn't always have the best opinions about things, but he always treated me well, and I'm going to miss him.
Looking great!
Oh very cool! Yeah absolutely lean into this, life is too short to play it safe.
Trust me, when I started writing WW2 British Commando fiction, I didn't think anyone would really pick it up either, but then it sold tens of thousands of copies!
Adult Westerns can definitely sell, you just gotta find the readers. Hell, I think someone's still writing LONGARM books!
The adult Western has a long ( π ) and noble history, definitely nothing to be embarrassed about!
I'm halfway through the first one and it's a hoot in the best way possible!
Yeah I cannot possibly believe that health insurance costs are bankrupting whole towns, and if that's the case maybe, y'know, they should push for state and federal governments to enact some healthcare reform!

Sometimes we just need to escape into a world where the bad guys don't win.

Genuinely curious what the money is being spent on, if this is the case. I'm not looking for tinfoil hat nonsense but the continuing ed program for Brookline which I taught for got shuttered last year and if BROOKLINE couldn't afford to keep around a program that people still paid to attend... π¬π¬π¬
Check it out!

The number of Claude ads I see these days is absolutely bonkers. They're trying SO HARD to be the Good AI Guys.
I know it's a very Reddit-brained thing, but I think about men being asked their greatest sexual fantasy and it's so often just some variation of "I want to be enthusiastically wanted and desired" and how the world would be so different if men learned how to give out and take in unconditional love.
CORRECT.
My favorite Fraggle. π€
