Has spring ever started earlier in Portland? I dug into NOAA temp data going back 88 yrs. Turns out it was one of the warmest on record, not the warmest. I built graphics showing winter 2026 against decades of Portland winters. Also took photos of crocus flowers.

A storm tore open the roof of this massive Oregon landmark. Will anyone save it? The Port of Tillamook Bay has offered to sell the historic blimp hangar for just $1 to anyone willing to preserve it, but repair estimates range up to $50 million.

An out-of-control, pajama-clad crowd in lawn chairs, armed with coffee and doughnuts, gathered outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in South Portland on Sunday for the Portland Pastry and Pajamas Protest. Two people were even throwing a frisbee.
