In an article in the Atlantic, Vivian Salama and Jonathan Lemire argue that Trump is not making any claims on Iranian oil and gas. But that's not quite true, is it?
Update from Kevin Morrison:
Sunny Pavqi, who CBP said they never detained Thursday and Friday, appears to have been transferred to Wisconsin according to her phone location
Allies fear Iran war will leave them without US weapons they bought
European and Asian countries worry the Pentagon is burning through munitions so fast that it won’t have enough to send the weapons they have purchased.
what I'm actually struck most by is the insistence on framing everything in terms of the "incredible knack" of the President to navigate situations he is almost certainly barely involved in if at all. Caudillismo, USA style
This is a madman!
WATCH: “An extraordinary betrayal of the American people.”
@krystalball.bsky.social lays out how Stephen Miller & Trump blatantly lied about being anti-war and said Kamala would do exactly what they’re doing now.
An ADSBx map showing DHS 737 N475US landing at Shannon
Heads-up Ireland: The newest plane in DHS's deportation fleet just landed at Shannon. However, this is not a deportation or military flight, the US gov using it to evacuate Americans from the Middle East (who are in danger because of the dumb war we started). #SpeirGorm #SpéirGhorm #IrishSky
GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida (real name Anna Paulina Mayerhofer) was a stripper in 2014 at the Red Rose Gentleman’s Club in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
She claimed to be Jewish while her grandpa was a Nazi. Then she claimed to be Cuban. Luna is a professional liar.

“Trump’s White House Posts Fascist Memes As It Wrecks the Economy”
The president’s extremely online staff is posting ‘Grand Theft Auto’ memes and cracking jokes about his Iran war as energy prices explode.
They function so often like shut in anime nazis that it’s hard to even give a benefit of the doubt of “good intentions” even. bsky.app/profile/mehd...
…show. Again: who cares. The most murderous totalitarian leaders of the 20th century had “good intentions.”
With so much of team trump, you can’t even believe that about some of them. It’s wild
I don’t think intentions are that meaningful when it comes to politics because almost everyone sans serial killers have “good intentions” but I will say this: it was possible to leave a lot of the Bush era leadership had “good intentions” even as the policies were a blooddrenched miserable horror…
Even for trump and his ilk, it is dramatic the speed and ease at which the president says at one second: this is about the freedom and rising up of the people and protesters of [x y or z smaller nation], and then nearly the next second stressing repeatedly: I don’t give a shit if they get freedom…
What you need to understand about these types of arguments is that the people who make them and publish them are likely to have been bullies in high school.
If you've never met these folks, how they interact with this reporter gives you a really good sense of what these major figures are like in person, imho.

How many NYT editors had to sign off for this clause to appear in this article? “a certain appeal to humanitarianism still echoes through the discussion of the war. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/07/w...
Earlier in the week I said jet fuel would be where the energy shock caused by the war in Iran would show up. Prices are up 115% from one year ago and according to Bloomberg jet fuel accounts for 30% of carrier operating costs. #Econ #EconSky

US Treasury Secretary Bessent: To ease the temporary gap of oil around the world, we may unsanction other Russian oil.
"There are hundreds of millions of sanctioned barrels of sanctioned crude on the water. And in essence, by unsanctioning them, Treasury can create supply."
Off ramp feels hard to achieve if Iran has no durable security guarantee, feels like they would want to squeeze oil as hard as possible to make sure the message really hits
@reaDonald Trump Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore. This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack. They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries. They have said, "Thank you President Trump." I have said, "You're welcome!" Iran is no longer the "Bully of the Middle East," they are, instead, "THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST," and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse! Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran's bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP 263 ReTruths 808 Likes 3/7/26, 6:11 AM

Presidential systems are clearly a terrible idea anywhere, but say what you will about Latin America, at least there we know that you can remove a president.
Can’t say they weren’t warned.
