There is so much priceless value to our Northwestern forests that cannot simply be ignored in the greedy pursuit of a few extra dollars of timber. I urge BLM to NOT proceed with this project!!
BLM may also inadvertently endanger rare plants and fungi that could be used to develop new drugs and medical treatments by ruining the balance of these ecosystems. Old growth forests also provide great recreational value to the public.
Destruction of forests is also a public health issue. If we destroy what is there, we may be forcing wildlife out of their habitats into more developed areas, leaving the public more vulnerable to disease.
The United Kingdom has almost none of their old growth forests remaining, which has left them with very few native species left in the wild, left the landscape vulnerable to invasive species and conversion to grasslands.
Forests like these take hundreds or thousands of years to form the intricate interconnected systems that support biodiversity. When old growth forests are cut, local biodiversity crumbles and productivity collapses.
We must not go through with this project! Eliminating old growth forests does irreparable damage to local ecosystems that cannot be recovered from replanting.

Idk if anyone knows this here but in addition to Splatoon, I am a huge environmentalist. If you see PSAs like these about destroying US's natural beauty, the thing the whole word comes here to see, please take the time to make public comments. Once they're gone, it's usually impossible to bring back
