I think the thing that enrages me the most about Musk is that he presents himself as some sci-fi nerd hero doing everything possible to save humanity by going to new planets.

If your plan for saving humanity doesn’t include the people already on earth, you’re just a racist piece of shit.

Aghion (et al) have a paper on China, they recognised long ago & before many that the Chinese model departs from the East Asia model in having a Darwinian struggle-to-the-death competition of firms behind a wall of protection. It pairs Schumpeterian growth theory w the economics of industrial policy

If you taxed every Billionaire in the UK so they only had £1bn you would get £1.1tn, an entire year’s worth of tax revenue.

It would affect only 173 People.

Tax the Rich, they’ve stolen all the money and dodged tax for decades.

It‘s time for payback.

How to Respond to Chinese Imports Dani Rodrik explains what governments should be doing to address the risks to national security, innovation, and jobs.

China’s export machine is a wake-up call for other nations. But it requires targeted and separate responses for national security, innovation, and jobs—objectives that are too often conflated. My latest. www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/c...

Plenty of scope for debate on UK immigration policy. It is complicated -but it doesn't have to be toxic.

But we need to tackle the immigration lie machine.

This isn't due to luck or skill.

Lawmakers can use privileged information to trade stocks while they’re supposed to be working for you.
