Totes agree Pik2 is mechanically superior to the original but it's also in it's QOL improvements that Pik2 is 2 easy to cheese for my tastes. Resetting dungeon floors you mess up on, no hard time limit, Purple Pikmin being so OP, so many ways 2 cheese.
Even in the 2P mode, which still rules.

Now that Pikmin 4 is real, 3 serves as a great middle ground between what makes both 2 and 4 good. It was such a leap up from Pikmin 2 in scope and graphics and was a great use of the gamepad!
Pik 1 is jarring when you start with any of the others but I adore what it pulled off.
Ahhh I'm sorry to hear about Pik 1 but that's totally valid! I was a kid that was okay with the time limits in Pik 1, Majora's Mask, etc, so while I love Pik 4, that weird gamer kid I was/still am is like "Pik 4 is too safe for me, I want time limits, I want Pikmin tripping, I'll make it work!"
That's about the sum of it for me. Played the heck out of Pikmin 4, even streamed some of my time with it, but like most modern games once I was done I didn't want to go back. Just like with BOTW, Mario Odyssey, and more.
Pik 1 on the other hand, I always have a want to play it again.
It's weird thinking about all this because it's like it comes down to 1 VS 2 and 3 VS 4 and then the fave is decided, that's why I like asking this sometimes. 4 was absolutely easier to play than 3, but for me it was a little TOO safe (Oatchi can solo so much of it). Pik3's team was very memorable!
I've got childhood nostalgia for Pikmin 1 and 2, but moreso for Pikmin 1 because I had the Nintendo Power guide, I drew my own guide(s) for it back then, even some stupid comics, and even without that guide I never took issue with the Pikmin ai and the time limit.
Looking back, I was a weird kid.
Yea the Plasm Wraith dungeon is annoying, and I'm not a fan of being goaded into making a captain just do some circles while carrying Olimar so you can play it safe. Also not a fan of DLC locked challenge stages.
Still, 3 wins out over 4 for me cuz it looks great for Wii U and tried new things.

Best advice you can give someone frustrated enough to be that weird about a creator and a series, is to just cut it out before they make it worse.
And yea I'm basically tattling on myself here because I remember doing that too, liking a series and thinking I knew better than the creator, and you never really do. You wanna be a good fan of something even if you've got problems with it? Find a way to make something good with that inspiration.
I would say to make some art or fanfiction for yourself if you feel angry enough to be mad at a series creator because they're telling their story and not your version of it, but people who feel that parasocially attached are likely scared to create because of self-imposed fear of being bad at it

She's still recognized and referenced by Nintendo all the time, even back in New Leaf if you played the minigame enough you got Puzzle League items!
I think Puzzle League is looked at the same way as like, F-Zero, where it could be revived but there's little hope for good sales.
