Psychic is phenomenal in Kanto. Alakazam if you can trade with someone, hell even Kadabra is really good in its own way. Hypno if you don’t like the idea of trade evos.
If you can do trade evos Gengar is also a solid choice sadly not for its typing as both those moves are physical
