🚨🚨 BREAKING: Just now, HB 54– a previously good bill addressing healthcare access– was hijacked in the State Senate to include a ban on medical care for transgender Georgians, including youth and those of all ages covered by the State Employee Health Benefit Plan.

The closest modern historical parallel is the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay for intercepted Cubans and Haitians during the HW Bush and Clinton administrations, where at maximum capacity roughly 12,000 migrants were detained. But those migrants were never in the physical US.

ICE to begin detaining immigrants inside Social Circle warehouse in April Homeland Security plans to build warehouse detention facilities in other cities being met with opposition.

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

"SB 74 does not concern LGBT issues. Code section 16-12-103 does not say anything about LGBT," one parent in favor claims.

She's right– because code section 16-12-102 is the one which establishes a definition targeting homosexuality, which 16-12-103 relies on.

A parent is now defending the Bible's inclusion of rape and incest, saying in context it is not harmful.

Rep. Esther Panitch points out that proponents of this bill are also taking sections of contested books out of context.

This time last year, I was on the South Lawn of the White House helping to lay out the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
This year the White House did nothing and the State Department instructed empoyees and grant recipients to “refrain from publicly promoting World Aids Day through any communication channels”

In 2025, Georgia became the state with the highest rate of new HIV diagnoses in the country, meaning we play a key role in ending the HIV epidemic.

We at GA Equality honor those who were taken too soon by HIV by continuing to fight for the rights of those living with HIV & for their access to care.
