On dark space background, a circular spacecraft lies exactly in front of the sun, with wispy light streaming outwards around the edge. Towards the bottom of the image, another satellite points towards the eclipsed sun.
Coronagraphs block the sun’s glare with a disk called an occulter. But for ESA’s new #Proba3 mission, the occulter will be on a separate satellite, forming the largest-ever #coronagraph. ☀️🛰️
