Indeed. Seems they may be changing after a lot of pressure. ITV also covering this .. they all copy each other by and large lol
@fairpoliticsnow
2029 election a long way off but are we hearing ALL the issues being raised at Westminster, Holyrood & in the Senned? Some parties get constant coverage. To make informed choices u need to hear & see all parties on radio/tv. Let’s keep pressure on media.

Are media finally changing stance on party coverage & giving a fair share? This is rare for a routine LD speech to be covered whereas they’re at reform’s pres conf live every week. Let me know if you spot any specific changes across the broadcasters abt all the parties www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
To clarify it looks like the second reading of the customs union bill is just a formality on Friday. But the issue isn’t going away but getting little traction
This Fri, LibDems bring forward a bill to rejoin customs union. Will it force Lab hand? The 10 min rule bill passed with Green, snp, plaid & lab backbench support on the dep speakers cast vote. Whatever happens it’s a big moment for the issue. Will it get coverage? www.libdems.org.uk/press/releas...

Ok this is about coverage of the different parties whether you agree with them or not. It’s about monitoring whether our broadcast media is discussing all the issues being raised by the different parties rather than creating a self fulfilling prophecy of lab v reform in 2029. I’ll update the profile
That’s your opinion of the issue. This is about whether the story is even getting traction - have you seen or heard it anywhere on tv or radio ?
Is this getting much traction in the broadcast media? Let me know if you’ve heard or seen anything folks.
www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Packed HofC for Venezuela statement. Much opposition to Trump led by LibDems but also SNP, Greens & Plaid. Emily Thornberry, Diane Abbott & most Lab MPs tackled Trump. I watched entire 2+ hour session. way parl feels is not being conveyed in media. Saw just one short clip on N’night. Spotted others?
This is about who is getting coverage and who is not - good or bad - and as I can see atm, the parties mentioned are getting little coverage for their stance on the situation re: Trump and Venezuela, Greenland etc
I’m reporting what I’ve seen. Swinney has questioned what’s happening atm.
Ed Davey objecting to starmer over lack of action on Venezuela
Polanski attacking Labour over same issue
Ed Davey concern about Denmark and Greenland situation
HappyNewYear everyone. Not been posting for sometime due to illness. But let’s start 2026 keeping watch on the narrative. Trump’s actions in Venezuela & worrying rhetoric over Greenland. The LibDems, SNP, Plaid, the Greens are challenging our government over this. Spotted little radio, tv coverage?!
No SNP or Plaid or Scottish Greens (different party) either. BUT parties with a substantial number of MPs should be on all the time. Others from time to time - not all the time in the case of Reform with 5 MPs v 72 for the LibDems.
The over platforming continues apace. This man is not even an MP. There’s Labour, Lib Dem and a Tory MP on Politics Live today BUT how many appearances does Zia Yusuf get? It’s crazy.
Ed Davey responds to Tim Davie resignation and mentions Farage wanting to ditch the bbc
Kemi says time for bbc to get act together
So Tim Davie resigns but questions remain over the over platforming of Reform. Sky meanwhile ask WHO first about the resignation? Yeah you’ve guessed right. Mr Farage! Ed Davey & Ken Badenoch have reacted but little coverage.
Not according to votes in actual ballot boxes. Plus how did the polls become this way?? Media should reflect what we voted for 18 months ago
No
The bbc and ch4 are owned by the people
It’s not about polling. It’s about reflecting the parliament we elected
It’s not just the BBC. All our PSBs are the same inc ch4 which we also own
It’s not all about the BBC. Ch4 and our other public service broadcasters have over platformed Reform constantly for months
They don’t seem to have attempted to cover the main opposition parties on this? They’re interviewing a non-MP from a party with 5 MPs. Where’s @kemibadenochmp.bsky.social @eddavey.libdems.org.uk Hope both main opposition parties are creating a stink behind the scenes !
Why is Reform’s Zia Yusuf the second major interview on the Laura Kunesburg Sunday programme this morning? Shouldn’t we be hearing from our 3 biggest UK parties on the morning of a potential terror attack? @kierstarmermp.bsky.social @kemibadenochmp.bsky.social @eddavey.libdems.org.uk
Mmm watch 24/7 pap from America because that’s the way it’s going. It’s not all about the BBC. All the other PSBs over platform too.
Just posted about the very same
Another Reform rep on QT, no LibDem, Green, SNP or Plaid politician. A week after Plaid’s big win, wouldn’t it have been an opportunity to hear from them? The over platforming of Reform continues apace.
Don’t ’goodness’ me. lol. What nonsense. Parties in Gvmt often lead the way. Total semantics. It wouldn’t have taken much for Labour to have a good turn out (regardless of cabinet convention) & showed a united front with the rest of the other parties.
There is only space to post so much. The parties that led the way on this were those where the majority of their MPs voted against. They happen to be the libs, greens, snp & plaid. Additional posts only a short time later clearly stated 63 Labour MPs voted against as well and we posted that graph!
I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at now. We posted exactly the same graph earlier
We’re amplifying the fact he’s been defeated and several parties felt it right to oppose him head on. And they should be acknowledged for that as a story. That’s not being reported much which is our gripe. The media should explain why and how Labour MPs voted too
