Why is it that in order to do the thing, I have to have already done the thing, so I have the stuff I need to do the thing?

Took me far too long to realise the reason water still came out the cold pipe after I'd closed the valve and disconnected it, was that it's a mixer tap, so there's a path for hot water to go down the cold side if you leave the cold tap open and turn the hot tap on. This is why I'm not a plumber π
I'm aware that laws, processes and terminology for this kinda thing are going to be complicated, but "considers" feel like a baffling term here. Is there a possibility they wouldn't remove him?
Gladly! *instantly hits max carry capacity* oh my god, how is she so heavy!?
Potential new word for describing your favourite outing you go on?
We should all be more like beefy. be ungovernable. be as hefty as a brick. be beef.
You can't contain the chaos, it will be unleashed
Beefy by name, beefy by natureβ¦ whatever that's meant to mean in this context π
What will we blame for the oopsy machine not working and refusing to be held responsible and take accountability for it's many many failings?
What I've found incredibly useful in figuring out how to get something working, is all the forum posts of people sharing various issues or offering help. There's a lot of value in a string of comments by people trying to figure something out and others who've been there before helping them out.
I kind get now why a lot of these apps are so limited and made to work with minimal input from the user. Having all the possible options is awesome, but incredibly overwhelming and easy to make mistakes. HA's documentation helps to a degree, but still with a lot of trail and error
This past week I've been playing around with Home Assistant and Zigbee a lot. I've been trying to get to a point where I'm less reliant on specific hardware and apps and been mostly successful, but it's not been simple and taken a lot of time to get working similar to how it did before.
What I ended up with isn't perfect and doesn't always work, but for my purposes it's good enough and maybe I'll get round to better understanding how some bit of js work and updating it. But for now, I have a slightly janky way of not having to press a key, that sometimes works, if I'm lucky π
I did end up managing to do what i wanted with this code, so it wasn't an entire waste of time. After some more faffing, the code I'd written was working, just not reliably due to browser security, load times and the overly complex nature of modern sites that don't load a new page every click.
Oh darn, what ever shall I do being presented with such terrible things as pics and info on hamsters? This will be such a terrible day from which I shall surely expire due to this affront.
(Definitely not written by a ham fan... ignore all the times i've liked/commented on your ham posting)
This does kinda feel like the final curse of the paradox paradox saga though
The book seems mostly ok and will dry. By no means do I blame @debugmag.com for this, Evri's delivery model forces their couriers to deliver as many items as they can to get paid and how they get delivered isn't a priority. Though there were definitely better places than outside my door in winter.
A photo of a horrificly wet parcel, opened to show it's contents after it was left outside. The contents being a highly anticipated novel that the author has been through hell and back to get to people who bought it years ago
@dan.nerdcubed.co.uk @debugmag.com opened my door this morning to find a very wet parcel that had been left on my doorstep yesterday by Evri, while i was at home. No doorbell, no knock, no email confirmation. As a postie, this annoys the crap out of me as I try to avoid this exact thing happening.
Chodinβ¦ actually nevermind π
Love the winky boy π
Sad to hear she's passed. You've done an incredible job making her life the best it could be, sharing her with all of us and advocating for tiny hams to have happy and meaningful lives. she'll be missed. Looking forward to hearing about all the other hams to come and more from Odin of course π
Spent far too many hours pissing about with javascript only to find out what i was trying to do wasn't possible due to browser security features. In some way I'm fine with that, as it stops websites abusing browser features, but I would have loved to figure that out sooner and done something else
I long for satire to be funny again
Good to know. If I ever become the owner of a horse, or a sponge (do sea sponges also count?), I'll make sure to keep them very far apart
Feels a little on the janky side at the moment, email verification "failed" but worked, intro screen froze the app, some ui/ux weirdness, but hey, maybe it'll be an interesting thing to use
Thats a handful of ham right there
Love to see a happy ham π
The hamster stuff is frankly a bonus to your usual art posts, not the reason I first started following you, but a great reason to stick around to see more ham related antics (hamtics?) and werewolf shenanigans. I'm hoping they'll merge and we'll get some wereham art, if you haven't already done that
Ha, JK
I bought myself a load of sweets earlier today and now people keep knocking on my door and asking for some, it's really weird. Just hope I have some left by the end
