Importantly, we demonstrate that an intact #fibroblasticreticularcell network is essential for the generation of functional effector T cells and the establishment of long-lasting protective memory, highlighting the critical role of splenic stromal niches in antiviral immunity.

We identified a new role for FRCs in shaping the quality of #Tcell responses. Mechanistically, our findings show that FRCs regulate early viral replication and the inflammatory environment to ensure optimal activation of #dendriticcells and downstream T cell priming.

Splenic fibroblastic reticular cells orchestrate dendritic cell maturation and facilitate CD8+ T cell priming and protective memory Fibroblastic reticular cells of the spleen coordinate inflammation for optimal antiviral T cell responses and protective memory.

I’m pleased to share my latest work, published in Science Advances.
In this study, we investigated how fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) that populate the white pulp of the spleen regulate immune responses to viral infections.

LCK–co-receptor association ensures T cell lineage fidelity and maximizes epitope-specific TCR diversity LCK-mutant mice help define the role of LCK–co-receptor association in T cell development and immune responses.

Now in #Science #Immunology: Justin Zhang, Jamie Rossjohn, @pzareie.bsky.social, @niclag.bsky.social, & al. generate LCK-FREE mice expressing mutated form of endogenous LCK that cannot bind to #CD4 or #CD8. These animals show defects in #TCell lineage fidelity & antigen-specific #TCR diversity!
