A great creative writing session today at the 'Words from the Coast' project with visiting artist Cally Nurse. Lots of writing inspiration from seaweed, shells and sea glass.

My poem was long listed for the Scots poetry category for the 'Saint Teneu Poetry Competition 2025'.

As a result I made the final anthology alongside the winning entries and invited contributors including the inspirational Rebecca Sharp. @rebeccasharp.bsky.social

Brushing symptoms aside as she trains for a triathlon, this nurse pulls out last minute feeling unwell. In hospital with sepsis things get worse when doctors discover a hole in her heart. She hates being a patient but is lucky to be alive. (Memoir)

Memoir - OUT OF THE BLUE 🚑
A frightening trip to A&E leads to a serious unrelated heart condition being discovered. Struggling to be on the patient side of the ward with two young boys at home, this nurse's life becomes one balancing fear, hope and love.

What a great weekend and so many lovely people came along to the Fife Writes writing hours that were facilitated by myself and Pamela.

🤩 What a great night at the Wardlaw Museum in St Andrews.
With poets full of passion and resistance.
Judging was very difficult but Tessa, President of Inklight, Laura, exhibition curator and myself selected two worthy winners.
