Despite being polar opposites, STRIP LAW’s Glem Blorchman often reminds me of Franklin Sherman, the father of Jon Lovitz’s character on THE CRITIC. Some of it is the great Steven Roots’ delivery, particularly at the beginning of lines. It’s one of many things that delight me about the show.

I keep repeating the value of something can’t just be how much money it can make someone else, especially with art. Traditional/legacy media needs patronage too but the internet allows creative people experiment with an audience and let something just be what it is with loving criticism and fandom.

Just a reminder, the greatest living American historian filmmaker, Ken Burns, released a 720 min exploration of every facet of the American revolution using zero generative AI and paying for all of its assets instead of cobbling it from stolen data, then he gave it away for free on PBS this year.
