Just sent out a free piece to expand on my article in @theatlantic.com yesterday. The signs of rot in US military and diplomatic capabilities are real and even more extensive than I could say in that article. Here are more-and a gift link to the original article. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
I have a news flash for some high-ranking idiots:

The FDA's controversial vaccine chief, Dr. Vinay Prasad, is leaving the agency. It's the second time he has abruptly departed following decisions involving the review of vaccinations and specialty drugs. n.pr/4d6X6FQ
In a job a couple of years ago we worked out the cost per effective hour for several countries. Essentially Sweden and the US cost the same per hour but the US worked a lot more hours.
The interesting thing was that the Indians weren't any cheaper, it took them a lot more hours to do the same job.
Not sure how the data is collected for this, 37,5 is 'normal' full-time in Sweden, but none of the union contracts work that much. 36hrs is probably the average.
Min uppfattning är att Fm/FMV gör jobbet så bra som de kan. Tyvärr är PU ett område där alla har åsikter även om de inte är konstruktiva.

I'd reply to this meme, but I'm afraid I only work 85% as much as the Dutch so I can't.
Exclusive: Since the war began, Russia has passed Iran the locations of U.S. military assets, including warships and aircraft.

Today, Europe’s energy system is cleaner, much more diverse - and much more stable than a few years ago.
Yet the developments in the Middle East remind us once again of the risks of relying still too much on fossil fuels.
What would be surprising was if the Russians weren't sharing intelligence with Iran.

Someone really liked writing in the margins. And yes the report reads exactly like you would imagine.
While the world is concerned about rising oil prices, Sweden is concerned about saffron prices.
Iran accounts for ~90% of the world’s saffron exports, which have now been halted.
Saffron is incredibly popular in Swedish holiday baked goods, as well as fish soup.
I find it hard to imagine, in fact implausible, that the US remains in the war until two months before the midterms.
I thought this was an @duffelblog.com headline for a second.
Interesting, according to press releases the diesel exhaust is underwater...
It's maybe just water vapour visible due to exhaust cooling.
