There’s something so grounding about taking time for yourself; diamond painting allows me to set everything else aside and be fully present with the simple beauty of the task. It’s paint-by-numbers reimagined for a Netflix generation, reminding me that crafts and hobbies can nourish us.
Yet behind the pitch and product is something deeply personal. This year, I’ve navigated growing grief from losing loved ones and found myself turning more to hobbies and the board game space than ever before. Crafts like this offered me a way to pause, process, and heal.
This idea grew out of our team retreat last year, where I proposed the Beyond the Board concept: a collection that celebrates our industry by blending crafts and merchandise, extending product lifespans, and creating new ways to connect with beloved IPs.

I will remain focused for Year 2 of this campaign, as we begin Mistborn, and at the same time, I am finding personal closure after a year marked by profound grief. I am reminded every day that with the support of my teams, family, and partners, I can truly keep moving forward.
This project has been the most challenging and rewarding of my career; it is a milestone shared by everyone: the entire Brotherwise team, the writers, artists, editors, and consultants of the Cosmere RPG, as well as our fulfillment partners, who are working tirelessly to continue fulfilling orders.

On August 6, 2024, @brotherwisegames.bsky.social launched the Cosmere RPG. In just 23 days, more than 60,000 backers pledged $15 million. This incredible response made it the fifth-largest crowdfunding campaign to date.
Today, my own copies arrived; as I look at them, gratitude washes over me.
It's not always been so dark for me, but this year has been tough, and having the opportunity at 37 to put my name on something that I'm so staunchly proud of, well, I just can't wait to show it off. 🧡 3/3
