Casting directors work for a loooooong time. I started in 1990. It took some (now v. well known) people a decade before I hired them. But I always rooted for them, and was so darn happy when they made the cut. Don’t be afraid of us. We are loving you pretty much always.

We don’t use strobe effects. We shouldn’t use subacoustics (and gawd, the high-pitched skreeeeee after a bomb/gun). Just stop. If you have to manipulate physiology to get a response, you’re a terrible storyteller. This is the harshest thing I’ve ever said online, but man, it’s an affront to art. 😡
Be warned that the Fallout S2E1 uses subacoustic tones to trigger viewer panic in a scene, which is the laziest, most unethical practice and abuse rather than storytelling. It’s why I don’t watch Eggers movies. It should be banned. My body is fxed now & will take hours to calm. Beyond infuriating.
Man, I’m watching Heated Rivalry (like everyone), and just: I’m so glad I was out in high school. These times today, having lived through Bork and Reagan, losing my tribe: pique my fight, and it’s AN ABSOLUTE JOY to see love triumph on a huge hit show. As natural as air and as eternal. Yay team. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️❤️
