βPoor Frog,β said Toad. βHe must be very sad. I will cheer him up.β
Toad ran home. He made sandwiches. He made a pitcher of iced tea. He put everything in a basket.
The reactions to Bluesky having a new CEO
holy shit
Book cover. The scene is a narrow street with row homes lit by street lamp along the left, with brick stoops. The title is in white sans serif: Whatever Happened to Eddy Crane? The subtitle is smaller, in gold: a memoir and a murder investigation. My name, kate crane, is in white caps. The blurb at the top says: Beautifully crafted. Crane stirred the embers of a Baltimore cold case everyone else was willing to forget β her fatherβs. βDavid Simon.
My dad disappeared from his Baltimore trucking company when I was a kid. 20 years later, I went looking for answers.
I did it to survive.
In telling this story, I hope in some way to help others do the same.
βWhatever Happened to Eddy Crane?β is out in April 2026. This is the coverβ¦
DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."
But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."
This woman, US citizen living in Skokie, was detained at Ohare yesterday, taken to Broadview, then transferred to a detention facility in Wisconsin, now released. We know all this not because of DHS, who repeatedly denied that they even had her, but because her phone was pinging in those locations.
what is the case for thinking that the duration of the conflict will be up to Trump?
We could end homelessness and hunger tomorrow if we wanted to.
We could agree that everyone should be fed and housed.
We could admit that being disabled, poor, homeless or unemployed is not a moral failing.
That society would be better off if everyoneβs basic needs were met.
Zelenskyy says more US-made Patriot defence systems were used in three days of the Iran war than in Ukraine since 2022.
At least itβs no longer MF (though I know the current one isnβt the one we all actually wanted). π« (Apparently I never hit reply?)
Thomas Keith @iwasnevrhere_ The Pentagon has burned through so many missiles in the Iran exchange that Trump is dragging Lockheed and Raytheon CEOs into the White House like a failing factory boss demanding overtime. The military admits the Iran strike consumed more long-range munitions than 4 years of Ukraine. Trump is posting fantasies about "unlimited supply" while Raytheon can barely promise to "eventually" reach 1,000 Tomahawks a year and the Pentagon only budgeted 57 for 2026. The industrial base is so hollowed out they're threatening contractors with punishment if they don't ramp up, even though the system physically can't produce at wartime tempo. America just showed the world that one regional confrontation with Iran drained decades of planning assumptions.
shot & chaser because lmfao

This is important.
Weather Radio is vital for Canadians everywhere, and particularly Canadians driving on the highways across the vast stretches of rural Canada with spotty cell coverage.

Toad puts on his new birthday hat, and it slides right down over his eyes. Frog looks on, thoughtfully. From "The Hat" In *Days with Frog and Toad*
On Toadβs birthday Frog gave him a hat. Toad was delighted.
βHappy birthday,β said Frog. Toad put on the hat. It fell down over his eyes.
CBC airing the State of the Union address pisses me off and is also so embarrassing.
I wish Canadians understood that "Everything the US does, impacts us" has become a self-fulfilling prophecy where we rely on them for everything and are therefore, constantly being impacted by their BS.

Post from "Mike the Canstralian" @aussieinto.bsky.social "Please fumigate the gay out of it first." Quoting a post by the New York Times with an article linked: "Everyone's coming to the cottage. You can now rent the lakefront home from the finale episode of 'Heated Rivalry'. starting in March on Airbnb. And it's surprisingly affordable." link to article with a photo of the very modern and rectangular, flat-roofed and extremely windowed cottage from Heated Rivalry with the same text as the NYT post text.
I'm not going to censor who posted this because he should be unfollowed, and you need to know who he is before you can do that.
This homophobia is unacceptable in Canada or anywhere.
Homophobes need to learn that their hate is losing them community.
Something, something honey badgers. π€¬
There isnβt enough anywhere, from what Iβve seen. Which is appalling, but given the general housing crisis, itβs not shocking we canβt get our collective shit together across the country.
They need to do something about the bullshit reffing. If it was calls in our favour, there would be international outrage and our medals would be called into question.
If there was ever any doubt, I am incredibly proud of our Olympic athletes.
So very incredibly proud of our womenβs Olympic hockey team. Proud of our menβs Olympic hockey team.
