"Report details how recent EPA decisions have relaxed restrictions on harmful chemicals in food, consumer products, water and air, increasing Americans’ exposure to 12 of the most dangerous and ubiquitous pollutants" #PFAS

Betsy Southerland, Ph.D. is former director of the Office of Science and Technology at EPA Office of Water. "Despite its rhetoric, the agency is not making America healthy again; it is making preventable harm inevitable." #PFAS

"Instead of tightening regulations, the agency has turned a blind eye in the name of corporate profit and is rolling back the few safeguards we do have." #PFAS #publichealth

They are way past 'thinking about it' - - EPA already filed motions in federal court to vacate the 4 mcls, so it would indeed 'raise limits' in drinking water, because there'd be NO limits on the 4

WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree. Need to focus on blasting Heastie though, since he's repeatedly ignored various PFAS ban bills (Senate approved) - wouldn't even bring them to the floor for a vote 😠

New Federal Rule Expands Toxic Chemical Reporting -- Environmental Protection
Facilities must now track and disclose PFHxS-Na releases, bringing the total number of tracked PFAS substances to 206.
Note: Mandate est. by Congress in 2020 NDAA .. PFHXS is classified as a "substance of special concern" yet Zeldin is pushing to eliminate the health limits/mcls set for it, yet they hype this?? Look up the toxicity assessments for this crap - it's so disturbing 😱 #PFAS

Whenever you see this- "The American Chemistry Council backs the EPA’s new proposal", 9 xs out of 10, it's a very bad thing for public health. They have 1 goal ($) & it's most certainly not protecting, or caring for, your family. In 10 yrs of #PFAS advocacy, calling them evil is hardly farfetched.

New Jersey acts on 'forever chemicals' — who’s next?
New Jersey joins 29 other states that have started to address the threat of PFAS.
NYS has similar bill already passed in Senate. Will you @speakercarlheastie.bsky.social ignore it yet again? If EPA is rolling back #PFAS regs & allowing industry to pollute more, you NEED to do your 1st job & protect public health. You too @governor.ny.gov

Scientists Just Discovered Something Alarming in Umbilical Cord Blood
Babies in the womb were exposed to far more “forever chemicals” than scientists ever realized—and we’re only beginning to understand what that means.
"The team detected far more #PFAS in cord blood than traditional testing would have found, including newer and less studied compounds... In total, they identified 42 confirmed or suspected PFAS chemicals in the samples" YIKES

If you had any of hope MAHA would do anything worth a shit, give it up (and WTF with that nauseating ad?!?! 🤮 ). With EPA rollbacks of #PFAS, toxic emissions such as mercury & arsenic.. the list goes on. Now, "Trump just gave Bayer a license to poison people. Full stop.”

Georgia bill would block families from suing carpetmakers for contamination on their land, water
Some scientists said it’s the worst concentration of forever chemicals they’ve ever seen.
Another example of when they tell you who they are, believe them... What an absolutely despicable bill - - protecting the #PFAS polluters and big industry, and trying to stymie the courts. Let the companies (continue to) fend for their damned selves.

These Olympics are first to feature a ban on ‘forever chemicals’ in ski and snowboard wax
For decades, elite skiers and snowboarders chased medals with the help of high-performance wax made with the toxic
For decades, ski wax shed toxic #PFAS into snow, soil and waterways.
#ForeverChemicals don’t break down and contamination doesn’t stay on the mountain.
The 2026 #Olympics will be the first with fluorine-free ski wax.
Why that’s a big deal for health and the environment www.ewg.org/news-insight...

Republican House bill guts laws protecting US consumers from toxic chemicals
Bill limits type of science used to determine health risks and gives industry major role in chemical review process
⚠️ Public health protections are under threat. A House bill would weaken #TSCA by limiting the science EPA can use, removing requirements that chemicals be proven safe, and giving industry more sway over chemical reviews.
Congress must reject this bill and protect our health from toxic chemicals.

Notice the no option offered for the companies using and disposing of PFAS in the first place be responsible for the costs...... If the price hits their wallets instead, betcha we'd see change. And closely watch Assembly, who've neglected larger ban bills last few years, which in turn helps this 🙄
