It's World Book Day and what better way to celebrate this day dedicated to books and a love of reading than to share with you the impact of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library 😊📚​

An opportunity to celebrate the amazing Dolly Parton and her Imagination Library which has positively impacted on over 10,000 children across Renfrewshire 😊📚​

Early years settings across Renfrewshire celebrated Dolly's 80th birthday in style. Inspired by them, we joined in with the fun at our HQ. Just like Dolly's book and song 'I Am a Rainbow', colleagues in Children's Services were treated to rainbow cake, pick n mix and a Dolly themed quiz 😊📚🎂🌈

What a day at East Fulton ELCC to celebrate Dolly's 80th birthday! The children enjoyed different activities including a hoedown, special Bookbug session, fruit kebab making, glitter tattoos and a special story from Dolly. Our very own Gail was delighted to be able to go along and join the fun 😊📚🥳

St Catherine's ELCC celebrated Dolly's 80th birthday and achieving 100% registration to Imagination Library in style. Their cafe became 'Dolly's Diner' for the day with the children baking a range of goodies for them and their families to enjoy 😊📚🥳🎂

The children at Glennifer Nursery enjoyed a day of activities to celebrate Dolly's 80th birthday. They welcomed parent readers and enjoyed some of their favourite Imagination Library stories. They also took part in our colouring contest and boogied the day away with line dancing. Yee-haaaaa! 😊📚🥳🤠

The children at Todholm ELCC enjoyed some special activities to celebrate Dolly's 80th birthday. They danced to some of Dolly's biggest hits and took part in an Imagination Library colouring content. Don't they look fab in their stetsons?! 😊📚🥳🤠

Dolly's 80th birthday celebrations continued at Maxwellton Park Nursery with the children sewing a special 'blanket of many colours' for Dolly, making cakes and dancing to Dolly's hits with banners and balloons. A great day was had by all! 😊📚🥳

The children made fruit kebabs after reading Dolly's story 'The Little Engine That Could'... but enjoyed a treat of some delicious rainbow cake too - just like Dolly's 'I Am a Rainbow' song 😊📚🥳 (2/2)

Mossvale ELCC enjoyed a special day of celebrations for Dolly's 80th birthday. They held a birthday party and special Bookbug session featuring Dolly's stories and songs. (1/2)

They created birthday cards for Dolly and went to the local Post Office to post these to Tennessee. They enjoyed stories, songs and singing - a day full of Dolly's favourite things 😊📚🥳 (2/2)

The children at Glenfield ELCC marked Dolly's 80th birthday by reading 'The Little Engine That Could' - one of Dolly's favourite stories and part of Imagination Library in the U.S. They read the story and enjoyed learning more about the lady who sends them lovely books each month 😊📚🥳

The children at Glenburn ELCC celebrated Dolly Parton's 80th birthday by creating a new 'Coat of Many Colours' for her - just like Dolly sang about in one of her songs. They also made her a delicious birthday cake in her favourite colour. We hope it tasted as good as it looked! 😊📚🥳

Dolly's 80th birthday was celebrated at St Mary's ELCC with a silent disco, bouncy castle and face painting. Mrs Mitchell, the Head Teacher, shared a story that's very special to Dolly too. What brilliant ways to celebrate with Dolly! 😊📚🥳

The children and staff at Houston ELCC are huge Dolly fans and so celebrated her milestone birthday in style. With crafts, songs, karaoke and a special story all about the lady herself, a great time was had by all! 😊📚🥳

The children from Kirklandneuk ELCC celebrated Dolly's 80th birthday with a visit from the lady herself. The children sang happy birthday to Dolly and enjoyed sharing in her special day 😊📚🥳
